I was treated by Dr Akotia today at Springfield hospital for a procedure. He made me feel at ease and was very kind, caring. We had a nice chat before and after I was under the general anaesthetic to help with the anxiety. Overall, my procedure today was nowhere near as bad as I wasn’t anticipated and the staff made it as pleasant as it could have been. Thank you to Dr Akotia and the nurses!

Niven was extremely patient and understood why I was apprehensive regarding the anaesthetic reassurred me that I would not be ill afterwards because he would make sure that I had plenty of anti sickness drug. He was right within two hours was having tea and toast and no side effects. Thank you so much Niven for being so caring.

I cannot recommend Dr Akotia enough. Dr Akotia put me at ease and made me feel completely comfortable with what I was about to have done. Friendly, understanding and I felt like he really listened to me. I would welcome the chance to be treated by Dr Akotia again if I need any further surgeries.

I have had the pleasure of being been looked after twice by Dr Akotia. He has a wonderful bedside manner and caring nature. He is extremely knowledgeable, full explained the procedures to me, answered my many questions and gave me advice on looking after my self after too. I didn’t feel any pain and felt very comfortable in his hands, he is a wonderful asset to the hospital.

Dr Akotia was kind, friendly and very reassuring but in an extremely professional manner. He put me at ease as I was very nervous and kept my mind off what was happening and on other things and without realising it I was waking up from my op with him checking on me. His after care service for what pain medication I should use was excellent and I was able to leave the hospital and his care full of confidence and feeling happy with what I needed to do. If I ever have to do this again I would be very happy to see his face as my anaesthetist.
